The Green Building Council Uganda (GBCUG) is an independent, not-for-profit membership organization committed to increasing environmental awareness and promoting sustainability in the built environment.

Membership comprises individuals and companies from the public-private sector, civil society, and professional associations - actors and influencers from across the building supply chains.

Our mission is to transform the way in which the built environment in Uganda is planned, constructed, maintained in response to the challenge of climate change, to reduce GH emissions, fulfill out international agreements and NDC commitments, and protect our natural environment.

Our vision is of a livable, healthy, resilient, and sustainable built environment that offers positive places - buildings, cities, and communities for people to live and work in while conserving our natural environment.

GBCU is mandated to advise, educate and collaborate with stakeholders , provide rating and certification of projects; and training of professionals in Green Building best practices encompassing climate actions, health and wellbeing; resources and availability as focus areas.
