Governance

CBC Uganda was incorporated  in  November  2076 and registered as a company limited by guarantee without shares. Currently led by founder members and Steering committee created to manage, set up and navigate the process of application and registration with the World Green Building Council. The Steering group will appoint the approp1•iate candidates as members of the Board.

GBCUG is governed by the Board of Directors.
The management of CBC Uganda is to be under the direction of the Executive Director.
The Executive Director is to be supported by designated appointees, specialists, who are responsible for the implementation of the planned goals and objectives.

Membership  comprises  individuals and companies  from public and private sector, civil society, academia and professional associations - actors and influencers from across the building supply chain.
The membership applications are reviewed and approved by the Membership Committee (MC) which meets monthly.

GBCUG Funding

GBCUG is funded by member fees, donations and sponsorship and is part of the World Green Building Council (WGBC), a global network of Green Building Councils in over 70 countries transforming the places we live, work, play, heal and learn.

Membership is open to any individual , company or organization from public, private or voluntary sector that believes in a better built environment. We want our network to be representative of all parts of the built environment sector and through our interactions and engagements inspire our members to continuously improve their social and environmental performance;
Building product manufacturers, building controllers and service contractors.
Utilities and energy service providers.
Building owners.
Facility and asset managers.
Professional societies.
Professional services (including but not limited to architects, engineers, accountants, lawyers, real estate agents, property valuers, project managers and environmental services advisory groups).
Property developers.
Construction companies and sub-contractors.
Financial institutions (including  banks, lenders and insurers).
Central and Local Government.
Environmental organisations.
Universities and  technical research institutes.
Sustainable community development will require the active engagement of more than just built environment professionals A wide range of occupations -from planners. architects and surveyors. to staff from central. regional and local government to retailers. educators and police officers will have an essential role to play in making communities attractive. safe places to live.
